Welcome to My Terry Fox Page
Dear friends,
I'm raising money for Cancer Research by participating in the Terry Fox Walk/Run in Central Park, New York City, on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Terry Fox was a young Canadian diagnosed with cancer who lost his leg, yet decided to run across the country in 1980 to raise money for cancer research. He was unable to complete his run, when the cancer returned and spread, but he remains an inspiration across the world. Runs are organized annually in his honour, and since the Terry Fox Run for cancer research in New York City began more than two decades ago, over $3 million has been raised in this city alone.
This year, to commemorate my own 40th anniversary of remission from childhood bone cancer (yes!!), I'm co-captaining a small team of University of Manitoba alumni and friends with fellow artist Glen Redpath, who is also an award-winning Canadian ultra-marathoner. We'd be honoured if you would make a donation.
100% of every dollar you give supports new research directed by Dr. Renier Brentjens at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Brentjens? lab focuses on immunotherapy research to treat acute and chronic leukemias.
You can also join our team (U of Manitoba alumni and friends), come out and support the runners, or donate locally!
